About US |
Jordan and Rebekah both grew up with a passion for missions and sharing the love of Jesus to unreached people groups. After 3 trips to China for Jordan and 2 trips for Rebekah they were brought together as a couple by their shared hearts for loving an unreached Muslim people group in NW China. They were married in 2012. Jordan began seminary in the fall of 2011 and Rebekah began teaching full time in the Fall of 2012 but they hoped and anticipated to eventually go to China long term. As Jordan was finishing seminary, they applied to go to NW China. After a lengthy application process and interviews, God closed the door to serving in China. They spent several months praying and seeking after where God was calling them. God divinely led them to international student ministry through several encounters with people who spoke into their lives. The Lassiters found International Students Inc in their search for an organization to join and it has been a great fit for them. They are currently a part of the team of five staff at Duke University in Durham, NC where 5,000+ international students, scholars, and spouses are seeking to improve their lives through academic success. They came onto Duke's campus part-time in January 2017 and became full-time in February 2018.
The ministryThe nations are coming here and we have to opportunity to share Christ's love with them. These students are often lonely and uncomfortable as they study and live in an unfamiliar culture. American universities are currently enjoying the privilege of educating many of the world’s current and future leaders in medicine, engineering, business, public policy, and other critical disciplines. Many of the students Jordan and Rebekah touch at Duke are likely to have significant influence on the trajectory of the next generation, not just in the United States but also around the world. The ability of these students to grow into leaders while wrapped in the love and grace of Jesus can have a profound global impact.

Partnership
Jordan and Rebekah are both full-time ministers of the gospel to the nations. Their ministry is a partnership with those who financially provide for them, those who pray, and those who come alongside as volunteers. They need people to support them on all fronts. If you would like to hear more how to partner with their ministry (through finances, prayer, or direct involvement) please contact them.
They love spending time in the outdoors, exploring new places, learning about new cultures, trying new things, cooking/baking, hosting people in their home, walking their dog, playing board games, playing drums and guitar (Jordan), and watching football and golf. They both graduated from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC and are big Mountaineer fans. They also have the privilege of being parents to their two sons, Hosea & Alder.
